Garrett Ziegler -- Oyster Locals Reporter

Garrett Ziegler has written a variety of obscure academic articles on subjects such as the New York City subway, the depopulation of London’s Square Mile, and fictional pirates of the Mosquito Coast. His photographs have appeared in a motley assortment of venues, such as the food website Eater, a Buddhist magazine, and a Danish newspaper whose name he doesn’t have the audacity to attempt to spell here. With Jessica Allen, he writes the blog We Heart New York (whrtny.blogspot.com). His greatest travel experience was seeing mountain gorillas in Rwanda and chimpanzees in Uganda.

The Bowery Hotel

With 135 flawlessly appointed rooms, a super-hip bar tucked away in the nostalgic, velvet-filled lobby, 24-hour room service, free Wi-Fi, and free bike rentals, the Bowery Hotel redefines class in a gentrified downtown neighborhood where punk rock and squalor once ruled.
