Pineapple Beach Club Antigua – All Inclusive

Willikies, Antigua

This 180-room, mid-range all-inclusive is the more affordable and slightly family-friendlier than sister property Sandals Grande Antigua. The colorful Grand Pineapple includes lots of activities (including games and water sports), but the nice white-sand beach and great lagoon pool can get crowded. Rooms have simple Caribbean style, with light blue walls and wicker furniture, but many are old and need updating. The shack-style Outhouse restaurant on the bluff is a highlight, as are the daily turtle feedings. Guests enjoy the casual, unpretentious vibe at this laid-back value option.

2

Hawksbill by Rex Resorts

St. John's, Saint John Parish, Antigua

The style and architecture of the all-inclusive Hawksbill resort harken back to the '60s and '70s. Some see only vintage charm reminiscent of a simpler time, while others will feel that the resort is in desperate need of renovations and updates. One feature that is surely timeless is the beautiful white-sand beach, with and calm Caribbean waters. The rooms are dated and basic, with no TVs, which is meant to allow guests distraction-free relaxation.

3

Starfish Jolly Beach Resort

Bolans, Saint Mary's, Antigua

Jolly Beach Resort is a large 464-room family-friendly (and budget-friendly) all-inclusive resort on an excellent mile-long white sand beach. It's self-described as an "affordable" option for Antigua, and that aspect is evident in the older buildings, fading paint, and worn decor. Though it's a little rough around the edges, considering the lovely beach and large pool area, Jolly Beach provides a decent value -- as long as you don’t mind a few shortcomings, and don’t plan on spending too much time in the drab rooms.

4

Coconut Beach Club

This 38-room, casual, beachfront hotel for teens and adults (no children under 12) is smaller than most resorts on the island, allowing for a much more friendly, intimate feel. All rooms face out on to the beach and feature ocean views, but the views inside aren't very inspiring -- the furniture and decor are old and dated. Coconut Beach Club's cozy setting and secluded location make it feel like a secret hideaway -- and while it's not fancy or luxurious, it provides a decent value for a budget resort.
