Insider’s Look at The Greenwich Hotel: Where Tom Cruise and Suri Had Their First Visit Since the Split

There’s certainly been a lot of buzz about the Holmes-Cruise clan over the past month. First there was the surprise split announcement (and it seems like Cruise was just as surprised as we were). Then, the shockingly quick divorce settlement. And now things are seemingly returning to normalcy — or perhaps reaching it for the first time. Katie has hired a fresh staff and is working hard to regain her career, and Cruise is taking it a day at a time: filming his new movie, ringing in his 50th birthday, and spoiling Suri as per usual. The actor has been staying at the luxurious Greenwich Hotel in New York City this week, visiting his daughter for the first time since the split was announced on June 29th. Cruise checked into the Robert DeNiro-owned hotel earlier this week. A popular spot among celebrities, this TriBeCa hotel boasts an underground pool, a sexy spa, and the homestyle Italian Locanda Verde restaurant.

Tom and his entourage reportedly booked three suites to ensure plenty of room and privacy for Suri’s sleepover. The hotel’s 88 rooms boast unique design and complementary amenities. Meticulously chosen leather settees, Moroccan tiles, Oriental rugs, and artwork are all placed in rooms constructed of reclaimed woods, hand-applied stucco, and hand-crafted tiles.

Tom wasn’t the only celeb crashing at the hotel. Kate Hudson and her fiance put their heads down and wore shades to avoid the paparazzo’s flashes, but the paps were more concerned with getting a good shot of Tom and Suri, whose head was buried in her father’s shoulder most of the time.

For a special father-daughter outing, Cruise took Suri out for a helicopter ride to East Hampton, where the duo spent the afternoon. But we guess Holmes doesn’t like Suri being too far from the city for too long — Tom had her back in time for gymnastics that night.
