We're so excited -- Halloween is just a couple of weeks away! And we here at Oyster love celebrating the holiday. Creepy costume stores have begun to pop up on every corner, and pumpkins and spine-chilling decorations are starting to appear on stairways, doors and windows. We Most people already know what they will be wearing, but where they will be showing off their costumes may be more of a last-minute decision (and with so many options, it's never an easy one). So here's some advice: With tons of space and on-site party planners, hotels often host some of the most devilish (in a good way!) Halloween parties around. Check out some of the coolest ones scheduled for Halloween 2012 and buy your tickets before they’re sold out!
Stay, New York City
The Stay’s Lodge of Horror Halloween Bash is not only one of the most entertaining parties in the city, but at $10 for general admission, it’s also a steal. Tickets include a one-hour vodka open bar from 10 to 11 p.m., and a DJ performance from 10 p.m. to 4 a.m. Those looking to splurge can get bottle packages ranging from $315 for four general admission tickets plus a bottle of Grey Goose vodka, to $1,745, which includes 15 tickets, five bottles of Grey Goose and two bottles of Moet Champagne.
Hollywood Roosevelt Hotel, Los Angeles
The Roosevelt’s annual Halloween party is a Los Angeles legend. Celebs such as Paris Hilton have been known to attend, and tickets always sell out. This year, the hotel offers an open bar from 8 to 10 p.m., as well as performances by the hotel’s renowned DJs (Mei Lwun, Adam Auburn, David Bullock…) and a cameo by Canadian duo Chromeo. The entire property will be turned into “a maze of ancient crypts and dungeons” and the fun lasts until 3 a.m. Tickets start at $125.
W San Francisco, San Francisco
Most W hotels across the country are throwing Halloween parties this year, but the W San Francisco stands out with its two dance floors and 4-hour premium open bar. DJ Nathan Scott will be spinning Top 40 hits and House beats from 10 p.m. to 2 a.m., and Funk Shui, DJ Antiks and Darkerdaze will also be part of the line-up. Entrance-only tickets are $50, but those who plan to have a few drinks might want to splurge on the open bar admission ($100). Table service is also available.
Hilton Chicago, Chicago
Music by British producer Matt Darey, a $5,000 costume contest, several performances throughout the night, and at least 2,000 costume-clad partiers is what the Hilton Chicago promises for this year’s Halloween party. This historic hotel is kinda spooky any day of the year — with an impressive lobby, grand ballrooms, and old haunted house-style décor in the common spaces — but the property will dress up for the event, with even more ghostly décor and decorations. Tickets range from $40 to $750, depending on how pampered (and tipsy) you want to be.
Liberty Hotel, Boston
The Liberty is rediscovering The Birds, one of Alfred Hitchcock’s classics, this year for Halloween. Complete with three levels of entertainment, renowned DJ performances, and drinks until the wee hours, the hotel will be sure to be hosting one of the best spooky bashes in Boston. For $30 entrance-only tickets, it’s a pretty good deal. Plus, the hotel is offering Halloween room packages that include accommodations on the night of October 27th, two tickets to the party, free parking, and two Bloody Mary vouchers. Rates range from $599 to over $1,000 depending on room type.
