Which lovely city are we featuring this week!?

This gorgeous international city was named after the sea captain who first explored the area for the Royal Navy. Also known as Hollywood North, this city sets the scene for tons of movies and TV shows each year, second only to Los Angeles in North American television production. And motion picture entertainment isn’t the only thing with a foundation here: Pamela Anderson, Michael J. Fox, and the environmental organization Greenpeace all hail from this stunning locale.

This bustling capital is its state’s fifth (and supposedly final) city to hold that title, and was even referred to as Marthasville before being renamed. Known as an “alpha world city,” this economic center has the third highest concentration of Fortune 500 companies in the United States. And more than just major world headquarters have called this area home: Julia Roberts, Spike Lee, and Martin Luther King, Jr. are all natives. But just what city are we talking about?

This capital city goes by a few different nicknames, but some lesser things it’s known for? Having North America’s largest urban bat colony for one, and being the site of Matthew McConaughey’s infamous naked home arrest in which the actor was said to be playing his bongos far too loud — and too naked, for that matter. And thanks to its large cultural festivals each year, this city is ranked sixth in the U.S. in the number of artist and musician residents per capita. But just what city are we talking about?

Think you know which city this famous park is in?

This charming, historic city has endless claims to fame. Pictured above is a section of the first public park in the United States, located in one of the city’s most iconic neighborhoods. About two hundred years later, the first American subway system debuted here around the same time that Alexander Graham Bell placed the world’s first phone call, proving that it really is a town of thinkers. But just what city are we talking about?

Baseball fans might have an easier time guessing this gorgeous city, whose stadium has one of the highest attendance records in the MLB. But this mystery locale is also known for some of its refreshing feats, including having the largest beer brewing plant in the world, and being the city where 7-Up and commercial iced tea were invented. The biggest reason we love this city, however, is for its contribution to hotels across the country: While staying at a downtown hotel, Cary Grant laid chocolates on the pillow of his female companion, leaving his mark on turn-down service (and surely his lady friend!) forever. But just what city are we talking about?

Between its gleaming coastal beaches and picturesque bluffs, this classy city has plenty of gorgeous sights. But this locale has tons of other bragging rights beyond its stunning views. Up until the 1970s, this city reined as the tuna capital of the world, and one of its best known hotels (an Oyster hotel at that!) is the largest all-wooden structure in the U.S. It's no wonder people are star-struck by this destination, with famous natives who include Cameron Diaz, Ted Danson, and Hua Mei, who was born in 1999 and is the first giant panda to be born in the Western Hemisphere since 1990. [Hint: He's a resident of the city's well-known panda habitat!]

Take a guess of where this shot was taken!
Take a guess of where this shot was taken!

This historic city may be known for a certain charming, old-world downtown district, but the city also has a bustling business center filled with skyscrapers along a gorgeous river setting. And this big small-town has more to brag about than the scenery. Not only were poker and craps first played in this sometimes-sinful city, but the terms “Dixieland” and “Uncle Sam” also hail from here. Though this town is synonymous with the genre of music that it pioneered, it’s also the site of the first opera to be performed in the U.S. back in 1796.

Surrounded by gorgeous snow-capped mountains and boasting fresh Western air, it’s no surprise that this city is a popular vacation spot among outdoorsy types. Which pizza-loving, lakeside city do you think this is?
Which pizza-loving, lakeside city do you think this is?

Despite its popular nickname, this town comes second to none. As one our favorite major cities, this mystery town has the only river in the world that flows backwards (hint: it shares the city’s name), and has the largest library in the world! You probably know quite a few different monikers for it, but some lesser known names you may not have heard before include “The City of Broad Shoulders,” “The Big Onion,” and “Paris on the Prairie.”
