Bottom Line

Divi Aruba All Inclusive is a three-and-a-half-pearl all-inclusive resort straddling the white sands of Druif Beach, a 10-minute drive from Oranjestad. Many (but not all) of the 261 rooms and suites look out over the beach and all have furnished balconies, Nespresso coffeemakers, and sleek bathrooms. However, it's the facilities that really stand out, including multiple buffet and a la carte restaurants, a spa, a nine-hole golf course, four pools, and free use of non-motorized water sports equipment. Nightly entertainment includes fire shows and live music. Guests also get access to the facilities and restaurants at the nearby Tamarijn Aruba, which has more for kids and is a better option for families, owing largely to the presence of a kids' club.

Divi Aruba All Inclusive

Scene

All-inclusive vacation resort with lush grounds and an open lobby

Divi Aruba All Inclusive is a beachfront resort catering to couples and, to a lesser extent, families looking for a beachfront resort with lots of included on-site amenities. The grounds are lush and peaceful, with a mix of grassy lawns, palm trees, and tropical shrubs. The guest rooms and facilities are spread across a variety of stucco structures, some with Mediterranean-style terracotta roofs. The lobby is big and bright, with lots of potted plants, wood beams, and a navy-and-beige color scheme that's also found in the rooms.

Location

Beachfront location in the Low-Rise District, a 10-minute drive from Oranjestad and the airport

This hotel is located in the Low-Rise Hotel District, around a 10-minute drive from Queen Beatrix International Airport. True to its name, the Low-Rise District is full of shorter hotels, though the busier High-Rise District in front of Palm Beach, which has lots of shopping and dining options, is only a six-minute drive away. Nearby attractions include Eagle Beach, a four-minute drive from the hotel, and the California Lighthouse, eight minutes away by car. Downtown Oranjestad and the cruise terminal take nine minutes to reach and the drives to both Alto Vista Chapel and the Tierra del Sol golf course aren't much much longer. Arikok National Park and Savaneta (with great beachfront dining) are each around 20 minutes away by car. Baby Beach takes just over a half-hour to reach. The Tamarijn Aruba, which shares facilities with the Divi, is a 10-minute stroll down the beach or road from the Divi. There's also a shuttle service between the two properties that departs every 15 minutes.

Features

Ample selection of all-inclusive restaurants, white-sand beach, multiple pools, and free non-motorized water sports

This resort offers all sorts of included amenities geared toward vacationers, and guests get full access to additional amenities at the nearby Tamarijn All Inclusive. Non-motorized water sports equipment (snorkels and kayaks) are available and included as part of the all-inclusive package; motorized water sports can be arranged for a fee. The resort also has three pools, including a large main pool flanked by shaded lounge chairs with views out onto the sea, a quiet pool for relaxing, and a 52-meter step-down pool with walk-in access and lounge chairs both in the pool and right next to it. There's also a nine-hole golf course that guests can access for a fee, as well as tennis courts and a gym. The spa, Indulgence by the Sea Spa, offers massages and beauty treatments for a fee.

Dining options are abundant, with 10 restaurants split between the Tamarijn and Divi Aruba. Guests staying at either of the two resorts get access to the bars and eateries at both. There are five on-site all-inclusive outlets, including the main buffet restaurant, Pelican Terrace, with indoor and oceanfront outdoor seating. Two bars also serve light meals and snacks. There are also two a la carte restaurants: the fine-dining (think white tablecloths) Red Parrot and the more low-key Pure Lime, which serves Mexican fare. There's also a fine-dining restaurant, Windows on Aruba, available for a supplement. The a la carte restaurants require reservations.

Family-friendly amenities include a kids' club (at the nearby Tamarijn) and entertainment for children, though most of the entertainment options are geared toward an adult crowd (from live music to fire shows). While there's not much here in terms of meeting space, the hotel does offer wedding packages and free hotel-wide Wi-Fi. There's also a car rental desk and lots of free parking.
