With 1,242 rooms, the behemoth Hilton Atlanta features the quality amenities travelers expect from the Hilton brand. In this towering hotel the spacious rooms are contemporary (if a tad generic) and have flat-screen TVs, and all the amenities of a big hotel are present: a well-equipped fitness center, outdoor pool, tennis courts, and even a rooftop running track. Parking is expensive and there's a fee for Wi-Fi, but the downtown location is convenient.
Short walking distance to downtown Atlanta attractions and public transit
Located two blocks from MARTA -- Atlanta's transit system -- this Hilton is convenient for exploring Atlanta on foot or with public transit. Nearby attractions include the Georgia Aquarium, the Georgia World Congress Center, and CNN's headquarters. In addition, restaurants and bars are close by.
Once sparsely populated and somewhat seedy, Downtown Atlanta now draws crowds year-round. The neighborhood started as a business and financial hub (and it still is), but has become one of the most interesting areas in the city for locals and tourists. Plentiful hotels, shops and restaurants are housed in gleaming skyscrapers. Other attractions near the hotel include beautiful Centennial Olympic Park, the World of Coca-Cola, and the Georgia Dome.
