Bottom Line

There's very little to find fault with at the Wroxton House Hotel considering its generally low rates. It's quaint and cozy with fresh contemporary interiors and some real period charm. Its location isn't ideal without a car, but there is plenty within driving distance, including stunning countryside views. Rooms are finished in a higher standard than you'd expect at this level, especially the Superior units.

Wroxton House Hotel, BW Signature Collection by Best Western

Scene

Quaint country hotel, with thatched roofting, dating back to the 17th century

The original building of the Wroxton was a workers' cottage dating back to 1649, which underwent major renovations after its purchase by Gill and John Smith in 2009. One wing of the hotel features the thatched roofing that was once typical of the area, while the more modern-looking sections have been styled to match the country feel of the property and surrounding area. Well-tended gardens lead guests through an elegant glass portico and into a homey yet modern lobby, full of neatly arranged seating areas decorated in purple plaid and floral prints. The mood is warm and welcoming with a personal touch you don't expect from a chain hotel -- one reason why it has merited its “Plus” designation.
