Near a major metro hub in the center of the city
The Catalonia Ramblas is in the center of Barcelona. It is within walking distance of Placa de Catalunya, Las Ramblas, and the architecturally fascinating neighborhoods of L'Eixample. The hotel is also close to a major Metro hub, which provides convenient transportation to many parts of the city.
Barcelona is an eclectic city that is popular for its historic and remarkable architecture, vibrant club scene, and urban beaches along the shores of the Mediterranean Sea. The capital of the Catalan region, Barcelona speaks its own language -- literally and figuratively. Known for a frenetic pace, the city is full of modernist architecture, medieval history, quirky fashion, and endless tapas bars.
Housed in the former headquarters of a renowned local newspaper, the Catalonia Ramblas features an unusual facade with a leaf motif that dates back to 1903. Inside, the decor is modern and minimalist, but lacks the historic charm of the hotel's exterior. Suites are spacious and some even have terraces with tiny splash pools. Standard rooms, however, feel a bit cramped. A chic courtyard with a pool and snack bar draws the crowds in the warmer months, but the hotel's main draw is its central location in the heart of Barcelona. Such a prime spot, however, means that the price tends to be a bit steep.
