- Double bed is sometimes two twins pushed together
- Furniture in public space looks a bit tired
- Glass doors separating bathroom from bedroom make for reduced privacy
- Some guest complaints of noise from metro train on lower floors
Grupotel Gran Via 678 is an upscale hotel with modern style. Though not huge, chic guest rooms are decently sized for a European urban hotel and feature a red, black, and white color scheme, modern artwork, and contemporary furnishings that make for a streamlined feel. All have flat-screen TVs and well-stocked minibars -- and some even have lovely views of the tree-lined street below. The modern vibe extends to the bathrooms, though the glass doors may make some guests uncomfortable. Public spaces include a small outdoor pool, casual bar, and lobby with contemporary decor, albeit somewhat tired furnishings. Comfortable, clean, and centrally located, this hotel is a solid value.
