Hotel America Barcelona is located on a pretty street in the Eixample district, which is close to the city center. The hotel is not far from Passeig de Gràcia and Diagonal -- one of Barcelona's best shopping areas that is known for its designer boutiques.
Eixample is home to the city's best examples of modernist architecture, including the Sagrada Família church designed by Antoni Gaudí. In addition to its eccentric architecture, this district is known for a vibrant nightlife scene, with many trendy bars and clubs found here, especially in the gay section (which is popularly known as Gayxample).
