Bottom Line

Beaver Run Resort & Conference Center is an expansive year-round resort featuring 515 rooms and a picturesque slope-side setting at Breckenridge's Peak 9. Compared to other resorts in the same pearl class, Beaver Run offers a slew of amenities -- a heated all-season indoor/outdoor pool, multiple restaurants and hot tubs, a spa, a convention center, outdoor tennis courts -- though its ski-in/ski-out access to Peak 9 is a main draw. Getting to Main Street, Breckenridge's downtown area, from the hotel is a bit of a hike, though. For a more luxurious ski-resort experience, try One Ski Hill Place, a RockResort on Peak 8.

Beaver Run Resort and Conference Center

Scene

A massive condo-style, slope-side ski resort

Embracing its proximity to the ski slopes, the Beaver Run Resort decorates its common areas, bars, and eateries in standard mountain-lodge decor -- think exposed-wood beams, stone accents (such as the large stone fireplace in the lobby or the stone-clad hallways), and Arts & Crafts-style furnishings. The rooms follow suit. Individually owned, they each have a unique decor fitting within the lodge theme, though assorted pictures of Colorado wildlife or skiing are to be expected. Although Beaver Run's 1970s origins are apparent, the resort blends seamlessly with its mountainside surroundings.

During the winter, the ski-in/ski-out access is a definite perk, as is the slope-facing apres-ski bar, Coppertop Bar and Cafe, a favorite among area skiers. With its multiple restaurants, pools, and hot tubs; arcade; and apartment-style rooms with kitchens, Beaver Run is geared primarily towards families, though its conference complex also makes it ideal for business groups and travelers.

Location

At the base of Peak 9 within walking distance to Main Street, Breckenridge's main dining and shopping area

Beaver Run Resort is situated right at the base of Peak 9, with a direct lift to the slopes and ski-in/ski-out amenities. Nearby, Breckenridge’s bustling downtown area, located along Main Street, is host to restaurants, bars, entertainment and everything else you'd expect in a cozy ski town. It is a 15-minute walk to get there though (longer in the snow) -- a hike that can be eliminated thanks to the resort's free shuttle, which is especially helpful during the snowy winter months.

  • Two-minute walk to the Peak 9 ski lift (Beaver Run is massive, though, so this can take longer from certain areas)
  • 20-minute walk, or four-minute drive, to Stephen C. West Ice Arena, for ice skating
  • Four-minute drive to Breckenridge Welcome Center
  • Five-minute drive to BreckConnect Gondola
  • Two-hour drive to Denver International Airport

All rooms have common hotel staples, like fresh towels, bathroom toiletries, and daily housekeeping, plus coffeemakers and humidifiers (necessary, considering the altitude). Standard Hotel Rooms are the only units without kitchenettes or kitchens; all studios and suites have either either one or the other.
