Best Kid-Friendly Hotels in Breckenridge

One Ski Hill Place is one of the most luxurious lodges in Breckenridge, with attractive condo-style units featuring gourmet kitchens, beautiful bathrooms (almost all with soaking tubs), and moss rock gas fireplaces. It also offers the most features of any resort in the area, including a two-lane bowling alley, two screening rooms, a billiards room, and an indoor pool area. It has a ski-in/ski-out location right on Peak 8, but getting to Main Street requires a trip on the Breck-Connect Gondola.

This mid-range property is, as the name suggests, a veritable village, with a ski school, seasonal childcare center, and a mix of 240 hotel rooms and condo rentals in five different buildings. Its mountain lodge decor is typical for Breckenridge, but its indoor/outdoor pool is one of the largest you'll find in the area (though the bar isn't particularly high), and the outdoor Jacuzzis are located on attractive redwood deck with mountain views. Guests also get access to the amenities at One Ski Hill Place. The property's best feature, though, just might be its location just off of Main Street, across the plaza from the Quicksilver lift.

These mid-range condo and town home rentals come with a solid array of on-site features: two fitness centers (though they're on the small side and a bit dated), a playground, a big outdoor pool, and three Jacuzzis -- not to mention use of additional off-site amenities including a media center, billiards room and two-lane bowling alley. Added perks include a heated underground garage and a free shuttle to town. The homey units, despite being individually owned, have a consistent quality of decor, and all come with fireplaces.

With large one-, two-, three-, and four-bedroom condo options, two on-site Jacuzzis, and a community pool across the street, Trails End is a great affordable mid-range choice for families. The six-story building is a true ski-in, ski-out property at the base of Peak 9 -- the nearest lift and a kids' ski school is just 75 yards away -- and walking distance to the shopping and nightlife of Main Street. But some of the individually owned condos have not been updated in a while and feel old an dirty.
