Offering one of the best views in Bruges, the 16-room Relais Bourgondisch Cruyce - Luxe Worldwide Hotel is a charming upscale boutique overlooking the bend of the Dijver Canal. The polished rooms have beautiful features like exposed beam ceilings, distressed wood floors, and pretty floral curtains. There’s no proper bar or full restaurant on-site, but the hotel serves breakfast in a lovely room with adjacent patio seating offering views of the canal. 

It may be hard to land a room at the Huis Koning hotel -- as it's a favorite among visitors and only has three rooms -- but it is worth the extra effort. Guests rave about all the little extra touches the thoughtful owners offer including in-room desserts and high-end bathroom toiletries. Located on a quaint street next to a canal, the B&B is in a historic house that feels more like an elegant home than a hotel. A tasty breakfast with homemade items is provided daily in a bright room, and an outdoor terrace has charming views of a canal.

The Côté Canal hotel is a luxury bed-and-breakfast awash with historical charm and traditional elegance in the heart of medieval Bruges. Set between a cobbled street and the picturesque Dijver canal, the hotel couldn't be better placed, and the main tourist attractions are just minutes away. Rooms are spacious and elegantly decorated with genuine antique furnishings, while breakfast is particularly good -- especially when taken in the garden overlooking the canal. While rates are certainly on the higher end, they still represent good value for this outstanding, and unique, guesthouse.

Interiors could hardly be more lavish and, while the ornate wood furnishings and patterned wallpaper may be too chintzy for some, the aesthetic is particularly impressive in the hotel's grand lounge. Luxurious touches also include marble bathrooms and champagne breakfasts (for a fee), and some rooms overlook the picturesque Dijver canal. Hotels this sumptuous and well-located rarely come cheap, and this is no exception, but you'd be hard pressed to find anywhere quite so plushly fabulous. 

The 22-room Hotel Heritage - Relais & Chateaux is a grand boutique, designed with historical restoration in mind. The city center location allows guests to walk to restaurants, shops, and attractions while the soundproofing keeps the atmosphere intimate and quiet. Common areas and rooms are beautifully decorated in antique fabrics with plush armchairs. Special extras such as fresh fruit, champagne, and iPads set the rooms apart from competition and make guests feel welcome. The on-site restaurant and bar receive excellent reviews and the wellness center with sauna and steam bath is a standout feature. A wonderful rooftop terrace offers views of the city and there’s free Wi-Fi, though parking has a daily fee.

In a beautiful location near the canal, the 26-room Pand Hotel is a popular upscale, chain hotel in a quiet spot not far from the main tourist destinations in Bruges. The rooms are charming and traditionally elegant, though some are more polished than others. There aren’t a lot of extra amenities at the hotel, but there is a tiny bar, and a full breakfast is served in a bright, flowery room with a skylight.

Renovated in 2010, the 50-room Oud Huis de Peellaert is a classic, upscale hotel with grand features like marble steps and chandeliers. It is in an excellent location for exploring Bruges, near both Market Square and Town Hall. Beautiful antique furnishings give spaces such as the bar and lobby an aristocratic air, and thoughtful room amenities include L’Occitane bath products, in-room electric kettles, and stocked minibars.
