Bottom Line

The Blue Soho Hotel feels refreshing and boutique-y, with exposed brick walls, high ceilings with skylights, and even fresh flowers and palms. Rooms exude a distinct urban, contemporary style, though some are dark and lacking natural light. Bathrooms are also modern, but sometimes positioned in awkward places -- in some rooms, the bathroom area isn't even closed off from the sleeping area. Although the hip factor is there, the hotel's cramped feel and lack of light in some areas can make it feel less than luxurious. One of its strongest assets is its location -- on a street with various trendy shops and restaurants, in the heart of the bustling and chic Palermo Soho.

Blue Soho Hotel

Location

On a cute, chic street in Palermo Soho, where some of Buenos Aires' trendiest restaurants and shops can be found

In the heart of Palermo Soho, the immediate surrounding area almost has a New-York feel, with lots of trendy boutiques and restaurants lining the streets that stay bustling late until the night. This neighborhood is the place to be if you're a young, fashionable local or visitor to Buenos Aires. It's only one block from Plaza Malabia and two from Plaza Cortazar, an area packed with vendors on weekends selling art, clothing, crafts, and jewelry.

A trendy, creative, young area, Palermo Soho came into the limelight in the 1980s, when people began to recognize its convenient location and lovely ambiance. Upon its popularity hike, it began to morph from a purely residential area to something a bit more urban, with lots of unique restaurants and bars. Aside from shopping, eating, and drinking, though, there isn't much to do in this area of town, although it's a great place to simply walk around and people watch.

  • 40-minute drive to Minostro Pistarini Airport (Ezeiza)
  • 5-minute walk to various museums, including the Bacano Contemporary Art Museum and the Argentine Ethnic Art Museum
  • 5-minute walk to Plaza Cortazar
  • 10-minute drive to MALBA Museum
  • 20-minute drive to San Telmo Market
