A central location near the Florida pedestrian walkway for shopping and restaurants galore
The Galerías is a small boutique hotel half a block from the Florida pedestrian walkway and two blocks from Corrientes Avenue. This central and touristy area is known for its shopping (Galerias Pacifico shopping mall is one block away), and guests can walk to plenty of restaurants, movie theatres and attractions. The neighborhood is a busy one, with loud traffic on the street below (double-paned glass windows help alleviate noise), but for tourists who want to be in the middle of the action and close to public transportation, then this is a convenient location. Company and bank headquarters are also based nearby, so the hotel does attract business clientele.
The Galerías Hotel is a simple, yet contemporary 43-room boutique option from Spain's Husa Hotel group. Upon arrival, first-timers may be put off by the busy street and the dull brown exterior rising narrowly between two neighboring buildings. However, inside, guests will find a more tranquil, stylish setting, with a cozy lobby as well as a cafe area serving meals and drinks (desserts are a standout). A breakfast buffet is included with the price, and room service can be ordered 24 hours a day. Spacious rooms come with large work desks (Wi-Fi is included), parquet floors, modern furniture and flat-screen TVs. Windows are double-paned glass to keep out the traffic noise below, and rooms facing front have better views than the rear. There is a small fitness center and sauna, as well as an attractive but small rooftop terrace, pool and Jacuzzi. The hotel staff will organize local tours and airport transportation.
