Paradise Court Aparthotel

Paradise Court Aparthotel is a budget-friendly apartment-style hotel that's integrated into a larger apartment complex with 123 units (only 20 of the apartments are rented out by Paradise Court -- the rest are primarily summer homes or year-round residences). The complex is a mix of soft-yellow walls, white railings, and terra-cotta tile roofs spread over three levels on a hill, with lovely views out onto the sea in the distance. There's not much in terms of common space and the place feels very much like a residence, only busier, though there is a small central common area consisting of a swimming pool, a pool bar with light snacks and a few tables, a small shop selling basic necessities, and a reception desk. There are two entrances: A main entrance at the top of the property, with a limited amount of street parking, and a larger entrance down at the base, where there's much more parking and easier access to nearby shops and restaurants. Most of the guests here are British budget travelers, including couples, families, and groups of friends. Note that the reception desk here is not open 24/7, and guests who arrive late at night or in the wee hours of the early morning will need to check in at the nearby sister property, Regency Tor Viscas.

Paradise Court Aparthotel is located atop a lovely hill overlooking the sea in an area with lots of residences and other hotels. Many of the guests here have their own cars, but even those relying on taxis can get down the hill to Playa de las Americas (about a seven-minute drive away) without having to spend more than a few Euros. There's not a ton within walking distance, save for a small commercial area with an Indian restaurant and an Irish pub, about a five-or-so-minute walk from the property. 

The location is excellent for those who want easy access to nearby theme parks -- for example, Aqualand Costa Adeje is a 10-minute walk away, while it's a four-minute drive to Siam Park. The Centro Comercial San Eugenio, where an outlet of popular Spanish high-street retailer Mango is located, is five minutes away by car or 20 minutes on foot, while the huge Siam Mall takes approximately five minutes to reach by car. Loro Parque, with dolphins and other marine life, as well as a smattering of mammals (including red pandas), can be reached in just over an hour. 

Mount Teide, a beautiful volcano at the center of the island -- complete with a cable car, an astronomical observatory, and plenty of high-altitude hiking opportunities -- takes an hour to reach by car. Getting to Masca, the base for trekking through the popular Masca Valley, is a 35-minute drive from the hotel. Tenerife South Airport is about 15 minutes away by car, while Tenerife Norte Airport is an hour's drive from the hotel. 

Paradise Court offers 20 self-catering rooms across three categories: Studios (which sleep up to three), One-Bedroom Apartments for up to four guests, and Two-Bedroom Apartments that sleep six. They have simple and a bit dated decor, including cream-colored tile floors, light or green-painted wood furniture, old-fashioned patterned linens, and generic artwork. All have terraces or balconies furnished with plastic lawn furniture, and some have beautiful sea views (many on the lower levels have at least partial sea views). 

Living rooms feature sofa beds that can be pulled apart into two separate single mattresses and flat-screen TVs with a few English and international cable channels. Living rooms follow an open plan with the kitchens, which are well-equipped with four-burner stovetops, ovens, microwaves, and full-size refrigerators. Safes are free, which is a rarity in South Tenerife. Basic bathrooms come with shower/tub combos, and while towels, hair dryers, and soap dispensers come standard, guests should bring their own shampoo and other toiletries. Bedrooms all feature two twin beds that can be pushed together or pulled apart as guests prefer. 

Paradise Court Aparthotel doesn't offer a ton in terms of amenities, though there is a lovely central pool area with lounge chairs and a mix of shade and sunlight throughout the day. The area sits at the center of the property and has beautiful views out to the sea in the distance. There's a lifeguard on duty during the daylight hours when it's open, but the space is fenced off in the evening for legally mandated safety reasons. Right next to the pool is a small bar with a few tables and chairs, a flat-screen TV for watching sporting events, and a pool table; it serves alcoholic beverages, snacks, and light meals. There's also a small shop selling beverages and a few easy-to-prepare meal items such as tins of baked beans. 

Staff can assist with tour bookings and basic concierge services like calling taxis. The hotel also offers a free twice-daily bus service down to nearby shopping areas and the beach. Wi-Fi is fast and free throughout the property, and there's a reasonable amount of free street parking all around the hotel (especially at its base). A tiny gym and sauna are available. Beach towel rentals require a nominal weekly fee.
