Southwest of Uptown Charlotte, Yorkmount is a small area near the airport with few sites or museums. There is a nice park and a somewhat-seedy shopping center, but most visitors to Yorkmount stay in the area due to its proximity to the airport, Uptown Charlotte, and Pinecrest, home to numerous well-known golf courses like the Arnold Palmer-designed Carolina course.
