Eclectic and lively are the two words that best describe Lakeview. The neighborhood is a dining, shopping and entertainment hotspot, with hundreds of options for every style and budget. Historic buildings, such as the Athenaeum Theatre (built in 1911) and the Lake View High School (built in 1886), blend smoothly with the urban landscape and the international atmosphere of this part of Chicago’s North Side. Wrigleyville, with its sports-themed bars, and Boystown, the heart of the LGBT nightlife scene, are some of the most popular enclaves in this vast neighborhood.
Where to Stay
There are far fewer hotels in Lakeview than in more popular tourist neighborhoods like The Loop, and most are clustered along the lake, near Wrigley Field and Boystown.
