HOTEL IS CLOSED FOR RENOVATIONS. IT WILL REOPENT IN AUGUST 2013 AS A THOMPSON HOTEL. This 246-room boutique two blocks from the Magnificent Mile has upscale services like free morning newspapers, 24-hour room service, morning car service, and twice-daily maid service. But the contemporary rooms -- although clean and big -- could use an upgrade (most still have tube TVs). The location is great, but you can often do better for the price.
Adjacent to hip Rush Street and within walking distance of popular attractions
The Sutton Place Hotel is located on East Bellevue Place, around the corner from hip Rush Street, and surrounded by popular bars and restaurants. It's a block from boutique shopping on Oak Street, and two blocks from the high-end shopping on the Magnificent Mile. Also within walking distance: the Museum of Contemporary Art and Hancock Observatory.
