Love Field Hotel & Suites

Scene

Busy hotel in a business district near highways

This hotel is busy with guests who are using the nearby Love Field airport as well as business travelers and conference attendees utilizing the 16,000-square-feet of on-site meeting space. The two-story lobby is big and bright with beige tile, cream-colored walls, and a crystal chandelier. Bright red walls and modern art behind the oak reception desk add a splash of color. An adjacent sitting space is darker, with red-and-black patterned carpet and armchairs. Black-and-white photos in black frames decorate the walls, and several clusters of chairs offer numerous places to sit. The adjacent restaurant has banks of windows, tan tile, and light wood chairs to create a cheerful, airy space. The bar is much darker and more intimate, with black marble floors, dark wood, a mid-room bar, and modern hanging lights that emit a soft, reddish glow.

Rooms

Some rooms recently updated, others need refurbishment

Rooms generally offer ample space and come in options including king, two queens, and two doubles in Standard Rooms or Suites. Some suites have been updated recently to include flat-screen TVs, microwaves, and mini-fridges, plus some also offer kitchenettes, while other Standard Rooms still have old-style TVs and are in need of a complete renovation and more thorough housekeeping and maintenance. Past guests have complained of heavily stained carpets, stained linens, furniture in poor condition, bathroom tile and caulk in need of a good scrubbing, cigarette odors, and maintenance issues. Even the updated suites include lower-quality wood furniture and carpeting. Decor is rather dark with two-tone, brown striped carpeting, burgundy drapes and upholstered armchairs, and burgundy and beige patterned wallpaper. Bright blue comforters brighten the rooms somewhat, while windows overlook surrounding office buildings and freeways. Free Wi-Fi and coffeemakers are standard, as are small desks and dressers as well as matching light wood headboards and nightstands. Bathrooms are small with pinkish beige tile on the floor and framing the shower/tub combos. Tan granite vanities sit outside the bathrooms.
