The Adolphus Rating: 4.0 Pearls
Downtown Dallas, Dallas, Texas

Oyster Review Summary

Photos and Review by Oyster.com Investigators

Pros

  • Rooms are some of the largest in Dallas
  • Convenient downtown location
  • Renowned restaurant The French Room offers fine dining
  • Large fitness center, with up-to-date machines and weights
  • 24-hour room service
  • Free shuttle service to attractions within a 3-mile radius

Cons

  • Some find the decor a bit stuffy
  • Pricey valet parking (typical in Downtown Dallas)
  • Unimpressive furniture on the pricey Luxury Suite's terrace
  • Fee for Wi-Fi

Bottom Line

One of Dallas' grand dames, the 422-room Adolphus features a large, elegant lobby and one of the city's finest restaurants, The French Room. Some find the opulent decor (crystal chandeliers, velvet furniture, dark wood paneling, heavy drapes) to be a bit stuffy, but the rooms are large and bright (if somewhat plain at times). The Adolphus was opened in 1912, and its convenient downtown location has made it a popular hotel choice throughout the years. Many celebrities have stayed there, too, including Queen Elizabeth and Donald Trump.
