In Downtown Dallas, nearby numerous attractions
Located in Downtown Dallas, The Adolphus is within walking distance of nearly everything -- high-end shops, tourist attractions, and top-notch restaurants.
Downtown Dallas is the city's central business district, but the area also boasts tons of attractions, shops (including the Neiman Marcus flagship), galleries, and restaurants. The area has recently been undergoing some major changes, particularly with the rejuvenation of the Arts District, home to the AT&T Performing Arts Center. The city has proved to be a cultural hub, boasting performing arts centers, theaters, and numerous historic sites.
One of Dallas' grand dames, the 422-room Adolphus features a large, elegant lobby and one of the city's finest restaurants, The French Room. Some find the opulent decor (crystal chandeliers, velvet furniture, dark wood paneling, heavy drapes) to be a bit stuffy, but the rooms are large and bright (if somewhat plain at times). The Adolphus was opened in 1912, and its convenient downtown location has made it a popular hotel choice throughout the years. Many celebrities have stayed there, too, including Queen Elizabeth and Donald Trump.
