Add CommentMy wife and I stayed at Dreams La Romana for our anniversary. Since they were informed in advance our room was decorated when we arrived. We didn't get to really enjoy the beach because we experienced bad weather our first two days. Another unenjoyable feature was the sales pitch to get you to buy a better vacation experience. What finally was the icing on the cake happened our last night. I came down with a stomach virus and I had to kill a bat that was living in our room. Thankfully it didn't make an appearance before then. The comment that I received from the front desk upon showing them the dead bat was "well you know this is a tropical country". Needless to say I doubt very much if I would consider staying there again.
My husband and I are 74 and go abroad at least once every year. The La Romana Dreams hotel is the hotel we would most like to return to. We could not fault it. The food was excellent and had a different restaurant for each night of the week. No need to book - you get a pager and sit outside having a drink until your table is ready. Large clean comfortable rooms and very friendly staff. One hotel where being there was even better than we expected from the brochure.
Paradise on earth, simply. Thank you to all the teams at Dreams La Romana: reception, very welcoming, the leaders, really went above and beyond (Miami, Joshua, Pikachu, Picasso Pablo). The waiters: the very best was JULIO, then Alvarez, Mickael, as well as all the catering staff, housekeeping, and maintenance staff, because without them the hotel would not be the same. Thank you thank you thank you and still thank you for everything for our first stay (unfortunately too short); it will remain unforgettable, but we will return I assure you.
