Bottom Line

The 96-room Ardmore Hotel is a family-owned, good-value property with pleasant and modern public areas and a fresh, clean ambience. Located in a residential neighborhood in north Dublin, there's not a lot to interest visitors in the immediate locale (other than the nearby Glasnevin Cemetery), but the city center is just a 10-minute drive away (and there's a convenient bus stop nearby). Rooms are simple and warmly decorated; breakfast, lunch, and dinner are all catered for on-site. If a central location isn't important, the Travelodge Dublin Airport Ballymun is around the same price and has easier access to the airport.

Ardmore Hotel

Scene

Pleasant, quiet, and contemporary hotel

From its smart, boxy, and post-millennium architecture to its bright, airy reception with bold splashes of modern art, the scene at the Ardmore Hotel is solidly set in the present. Hallways are clean, fresh, and unfussy, while behind the hotel is a paved garden with picnic table seating and parasols -- a pleasant enough space for a quiet drink. Although set on a busy road the overall atmosphere is peaceful, probably through attracting the kind of tourists who prefer to be away from the hustle and bustle of central Dublin.

Buses from outside the hotel get you to Dublin's center in 10 minutes, or it's a four-mile drive. It's a 15-minute drive or six miles from Dublin airport to the hotel, while Connolly train station is three miles away.
