Bottom Line

Refurbished from 1884 conch houses, the Marquesa Hotel is a compound of four buildings surrounding lovely interior gardens and two pools. A narrow staircase off the lobby leads to the individually decorated rooms. Light and airy rooms feature flat-screen TVs, mini-fridges, and cozy sitting areas with ottomans. Bathrooms are basic and clean with shower/tub combos and marble sinks. Suites have private terraces with cute wicker furniture and some are adjacent to one of the hotel's pools. An appealing on-site restaurant, Cafe Marquesa, serves fresh local seafood. No children under 14 are allowed at the hotel, providing this property with a distinctly romantic feel. Free Wi-Fi and parking add value, and the Old Town location two blocks from Duval Street is convenient.

Marquesa Hotel

Location

In the heart of Old Town, near the bars and restaurants on Duval Street

The Marquesa Hotel has a convenient location in Old Town Key West, two blocks from lively Duval Street, with its bars, restaurants, and shops.

Key West is the westernmost of the Florida Keys, and offers a thriving nightlife scene, as well as great diving, shops, restaurants, and decent beaches -- all within a few blocks. It can feel like a bit of a tourist trap with its tacky bars, hordes of cruise ship passengers, and T-shirt shops, but it’s one of the few Keys that has historic sites to visit. On the literary side, Ernest Hemingway and Tennessee Williams spent a big part of their lives here, and their homes have now been turned into museums.

  • 9-minute drive from Key West International Airport
  • 9-minute walk to Key West Museum of Art & History
  • 1-to-12-minute walk to local art galleries
  • 2-to-15-minute walk to dozens of bars, restaurants, and shops
  • 3-minute walk to The Original Ghost Tours
  • 10-minute walk to FURY Water Adventures Key West
  • 10-minute walk to Key West Shipwreck Museum
  • 10-minute walk to Key West Aquarium
  • 11-minute walk to Ernest Hemingway Home & Museum
  • 11-minute walk to Key West Lighthouse Museum
  • 3-minute drive to Mallory Square
  • 5-minute drive to Fort Zachary Historic State Park
  • 5-minute drive to South Beach
