Oyster Review Summary

Photos and Review by Oyster.com Investigators

Pros

Cons

  • No in-room Wi-Fi; wired costs $13 per day
  • $5 beach loungers; $15 for an umbrella
  • $27 parking fee (valet)
  • Scarce off-site dining within walking distance

Bottom Line

After its $25 million makeover, this 650-room Marriott in Fort Lauderdale is great for kids -- giant pool, kids' club, big, comfortable guest rooms -- but there's still plenty for grown-ups, including yoga classes at the fitness center, an adult-only pool, and a full-service spa and salon. Just watch out for the nickel-and-diming.

 Food

Three restaurants, one lounge, a raw bar and the ubiquitous Starbucks round out Marriott Harbor's food offerings.

The Marriott Harbor sports three restaurant, the casual - well as casual as the Marriott Harbor can get -- Riva and Sea Level Restaurant & Ocean Bar and the more formal 3030 Ocean.

Riva is a family friendly beach restaurant where guests can catch breakfast -- a daily breakfast buffet is served for $19- lunch, Sunday brunch and occasionally dinner -- depending on the season. The entrees are standard American fare with items like a BLT ($14) for lunch and meatloaf ($22) served for dinner.

Sea Level's lunch and dinner offerings are similar, with an atmosphere equally casual to Riva's. The restaurant serves up moderately priced sandwiches and salads for lunch and entrees like brick grilled tanglewood chicken ($28) and grilled NY steak and fries ($34) for dinner. At this establishment guests can dine indoors or outdoors or hit the daily happy hour at its Ocean Bar from 5-7 p.m.

3030 Ocean is the much more sophisticated option of the two. This reservation only spot serves up items like roasted Maine lobster ($42) and something called grilled local Wahoo ($29). Adventurous dinners can feast on the $80 "chef surprise" tasting menu. The restaurant is also the site of the hotel's raw bar, called 3030 Raw Bar where dinners can get items like ahi tuna coconut ceviche ($15) and spicy tuna tartar ($15). The restaurant's lounge, the 3030 Bar, serves cocktails until 1 a.m. as well as lunch until 5:30 p.m. and dinner until midnight.

Starbucks is also onsite and open for breakfast and lunch.

In-room dining is available 24 hours a day.
