Bottom Line

Conveniently located in the bustling tourist and shopping district of Tsim Sha Tsui, the 546-room Kimberley Hotel is an upper-middle-range property in walking distance to many restaurants, high-end shops, and popular attractions. This hotel was built in 1990 as a luxury property, and while it maintains some ritzy features, style is on the dated side. Rooms are functional and tidy with minibars, flat-screen TVs, air-conditioning, and coffee- and tea-making facilities. The hotel has three on-site restaurants, a lobby bar, a spa, two meeting rooms, and a small gym. Breakfast is available, but it costs an extra daily fee, as does Wi-Fi. The nearby Park Hotel Hong Kong doesn't have a spa, but its rooms are more updated.

Kimberley Hotel

Scene

Former luxury property in an excellent location

The Kimberley Hotel is situated in a high-rise with a unique zigzagging facade and an entrance shared by jewelry shops and clothing stores. Built in 1990 as a luxury property, this hotel still offers some upscale elements, though the decor is on the dated side. Escalators, which travel past an indoor decorative pool with greenery, deliver guests to a spacious lobby with marble floors, a wood accent wall, and a small carpeted area with a few black leathery couches. Four elevators connect guests to the rooms or to the hotel's lobby bar and restaurant. While many guests agree that the property could use renovations, the hotel still offers functionality, plenty of property features, and an excellent location for a reasonable price. This hotel attracts a variety of visitors, from business guests to leisure travelers to families.

Tidy rooms with minibars, AC, satellite TV, and marble bathrooms -- but decor is dated

Guest rooms at the Kimberley Hotel vary in size and layout, ranging from 220-square-foot Standard Rooms to 500-square-foot Suites. Work desks, small wardrobes, nightstands, and bed frames are made of simple blond wood. Amenities include electric kettles for coffee and tea, small safes, flat-screen satellite TVs, air-conditioning, and minibars. Bathrooms are more contemporary with marbled tile and include shower/tub combos, hairdryers, and individual toiletries.
