If rooftop tennis didn't have you feeling queasy enough, looking down at the Conrad Hotel's courts from the 36-story skyscraper (of which the hotel takes up 17 floors) will certainly do it. The massive Stratosphere Hotel in Las Vegas is best known for having the tallest freestanding tower (at nearly 1,200 feet) in the U.S. with rides, two wedding chapels, a shopping center, and a revolving restaurant. Don't look down! The Grand Deluxe Harbour View Suites at The Peninsula Hong Kong are in the modern tower of this luxury hotel. Located on floors 22 through 25 (as well as several on 27), these suites feature gorgeous views of the harbor -- including 270-degree views from the Jacuzzi tub in the bathroom. Whoa, that's a long way down -- and with nothing soft to land on. The New York Palace, one of the city's most visually stunning hotels, stands at 53 stories on Madison Avenue and boasts killer views. From the Executive Lounge on the 39th floor, business travelers get an eyeful of the gothic St. Patrick's Cathedral. One of the tallest hotels in Las Vegas, the Encore at Wynn rises high above the strip. However, the views are less picturesque (although at night they can be pretty) and more plain dizzying, with floor-to-ceiling windows overlooking the highway. The Donald doesn't do anything on a small scale and that includes his hotel in Chicago. As the hotel website boasts, "you're either staying at a Trump or in the shadow of one," and with the hotel at 92-stories tall, that seems about right. Even the Trump SoHo, half the height of the Trump Chicago, dominates the downtown skyline in New York City. On the top floors of the third tallest skyscraper in San Francisco, the Mandarin Oriental features gorgeous views of the city's skyline from its rooms and the hotel's Sky Bridge on the highest floor. At 28 floors, Hesperia Tower makes the list of tallest buildings in Barcelona, a city largely characterized by beautiful historic structures. Evo Restaurant, on the top floor, features a glassed-in globe ceiling that offers beautiful -- if a bit terrifying -- views.
