Hotel Terra Jackson Hole, A Noble House Resort

Teton Village, Wyoming, United States

The 132-room Hotel Terra is a trendy, eco-friendly ski lodge that offers a nice break from the often-standard mountain-lodge decor found in other area hotels. The lobby has the characteristic fireplaces and antler-adorned walls, but they're complemented by pops of color and modern furniture. The rooms are sleek, with flat-screen TVs, iPod docks, free Wi-Fi, and organic toiletries in the bathrooms (complete with heated floors), though standard rooms are a bit cramped. Perhaps most importantly, the hotel is just a short walk from the slopes and has on-site ski rentals and a ski valet. But it feels a little more geared toward couples than families, and lacks some of the kid-friendly amenities you'll find at the Four Seasons.

2

Rusty Parrot Lodge and Spa

Jackson, Wyoming, United States

The small 32-room Rusty Parrot Lodge is decidedly upscale for the area and notably quiet despite its central location. The property embraces a rustic chic decor, including in the super spacious, bright rooms (some with fireplaces) with clean, white-tile bathrooms. It hits all of the requisite apres-ski offerings: an ornate reading room with heavy leather chairs, an outdoor lounge deck with a Jacuzzi and fire pits, and a stylish bar manned by knowledgeable mixologists. Even though the on-site restaurant Wild Sage has delicious food, guests are still only steps away from Jackson's restaurants, shops, and bars

3

White Buffalo Club – Hotel

Jackson, Wyoming, United States

Originally built as condos, The White Buffalo Club has a luxurious, apartment-like feel; the restaurant is only open to guests and members, as are the large fitness center (complete with yoga studio) and the deck with mountain views. However, as a small property (there are only 17 rooms), the hotel often closes the restaurant early and there is no room service. All rooms have large flat-screen TV and washer/dryers, but the decor is bland and stark. The slate-and-granite bathrooms feel somewhat glamorous, though, and the soaking tubs are a nice touch considering there's no on-site Jacuzzi for post-ski soaking.

4

Teton Mountain Lodge & Spa – A Noble House Resort

Teton Village, Wyoming, United States

In keeping with its name, Teton Mountain Lodge's 145 condo-style rooms and common areas have a distinct mountain-lodge vibe. If the rooms weren't amply supplied with up-to-date amenities such as flat-screen TVs, iPod docks, and new appliances in the kitchens, you might feel as if you were staying in your own remote log cabin. Being that most nearby restaurants and bars are expensive, the full kitchens in most rooms (all but the Lodge Room) help to combat the high prices. The whole hotel is cozy, including the beautiful lobby, with its two tall, towering stone fireplaces and exposed wooden beams. All guests have full access to the Solitude Spa facilities: two pools, five Jacuzzis (great for sore post-ski muscles), steam rooms, and a nicely equipped fitness center.

5

The Wort Hotel

Jackson, Wyoming, United States

Originally opened in 1941, the historic Wort Hotel (it's listed on the National Register of Historic Places) is a cozy ski lodge in downtown Jackson within walking distance of numerous shops and bars. The 59 large rooms embrace the Western theme that's standard in this area (with cowboy paintings and Western-style comforters) without being overly kitschy, and the on-site restaurant is a popular destination. The Silver Dollar Bar, built in 1950, gets its name from the bar covered in 2,032 uncirculated Morgan Silver Dollars from the Denver mint. The hotel has a fitness center, but unlike larger resorts, there is no spa or Jacuzzi, so those looking for some R&R may consider the nearby White Buffalo Club.
