Opened in 1928, the Ponte Vedra resort has a storied, southern aristocratic reputation. Rooms look and feel upscale (despite some overuse of tacky floral prints and occasionally dinged furniture), and offer fantastic views. But what makes the resort truly stand out are its ample amenities: 15 tennis courts, 36 holes of golf, a luxurious spa, and four swimming pools catering to both couples and families. The sheer size doesn't detract from the quality of the maintenance on the property; if anything, it's standing proof that they just don't make beach resorts like they used to.

The Ponte Vedra Inn is located directly on a calm stretch of beach just minutes south of Jacksonville Beach. It's an affluent area known for its relaxed surroundings, plentiful golf options, quiet beaches, and upscale resorts.
In the northern area of Florida, Jacksonville Beach is a calmer option compared to the packed and often party-centric beaches of Southern Florida. The beach is known for being a great surfing spot, and it also has a fishing pier that is frequented by locals and tourists alike. There are several small restaurants in the area, as well as a few touristy shops and surf shops.
