OMG we loved this place and are going back SOON!

By from Minneapolis, MN on May 24, 2010

This trip was AMAZING and Escape couldn't have been more accommodating! We arrived on March 7th at the airport in Montego Bay. Our flight was early so we had to wait for our driver Perry, but no problem man he was there on time. Escape won't automatically pick you up you need to call Teo, who is in charge of transport, tours, and the gift shop, and have him arrange it before you plan to arrive on the island, easy as pie.

The drive from the airport to Escape is about an hour and a half. It is a very beautiful drive so just sit back and enjoy. A warning though is that the roads are very narrow and have a lot of pot holes and they drive faster than us Americans are used to so it can be a little scary. Perry is an excellent driver though and kept us safe.

Once we got to the hotel we got complimentary rum punch which was delicious and an employee helped us with our bags to our modest room. Our room had a large dresser, a closet, and nice bathroom with shampoo/conditioner, bar soap, and lotion. Each bungalow has about 4 rooms, and each room has its own hammock and deck/balcony area.

After getting settled we met with Teo to settle our taxi fare from the airport, which ended up being US$150 for round trip for the 2 of us, reasonable compared to other taxis. We also signed up to go on the River Walk Tour through Teo the next day, which was US$110/person and well worth it, better than the 2 Chukka tours we went on!

Anything you need on the island Teo can set up, and I mean EVERYTHING! He can arrange a picnic on the beach or horse back riding in the ocean.

Every morning there is a complimentary hot and cold breakfast buffet of American and Jamaican fare. The fresh fruit is phenomenal and the Johnny Cakes are one of my favorites. We also got to see a Wayne Wonder concert at the resort where they had great food and vendors come in during the concert.

The pool was clean and warm and there is a ladder down to the sea for swimming and snorkeling or scuba diving (there is a dive shop at the resort). The water is so clear it's amazing. There is also a light house that the more adventurous can jump off of into the sea.

At one point the people in the room above us started making a habit of coming home and making a ton of noise at 3am. I just went to the office and no problem they just switched our room at no additional charge and we got a second level ocean view that was amazing. The customer service here is the best I have ever had at any hotel. The rooms were thoroughly cleaned daily, and as long as you don't keep open food in your room you won't have any bug problems!

This is a very quiet hotel and most of the time we felt like we had the whole place to ourselves even though every room was booked. We even got to meet the CEO Carey and he was very nice and seemed to be around the hotel very often.

Right before we left for home, we went to the spa and had a 30 min massage each. It was amazing, the woman was very good at what she did and made a very relaxing environment.

We will definitely be going to Jamaica again, and when we do we will be staying at Escape and arranging all of our activities through Teo.
