Service? Not here

By justin oxley from Texas on Dec 27, 2011

We stayed at the Flamingo for four nights, or all of last week. Our thermostat went out on the 2nd afternoon. They worked on replacing it from 9pm - 3am. One repairman came, then the second. The second explained that the shift changed. One of the main reasons we chose this hotel was due to the pictures of the buffet looking onto the nature exhibit we saw on this site. When we checked in, we were told it was closed for two weeks. Additionally, the hamburger place in the hotel was also closed. I brought these 3 separate issues to the attention of the manager at the front desk. He said he was sorry and offered me a free drink. We won't be back. It's Vegas. There's competition.

Don't expect a return visit

By Mike Hattrup from Wichita, KS on Oct 17, 2011

Just there last week. This had to be the worst room I have ever stayed in in Vegas. The only thing missing from the carpet was the chalk outline of the body. Never was comfortable taking my shoes and socks off while in the room. Had an ice bucket but couldn't ever locate an ice machine. Check in was slow until I found express, self service. Was offered a room upgrade to a King for an additional $112/night. $112 for four nights maybe, but certainly not per night. In retrospect, maybe I should have. Bed was fine. TV was lacking, poor channel selection, but lots of commercials to purchase pay per view. Bathroom left a lot to be desired. What hotel doesn't have the curved shower curtain bars anymore? The Flamingo for one. And the shower head was a bathtub spigot with an adapter and some sort of shower head attached. Not going to ever stay here again.

Our stay at the Flamingo was such a disappointment. We chose to stay there because of the pool and then found that because we were with children we were restricted to a tiny pool in which there was standing room only. We queued for 1 1/2 hours to get a key to our room on arrival. The room was truly awful- the carpet so filthy that I would not take my shoes off. I would imagine it had not been cleaned for many years due to the amount of grime. We would have checked out and into another motel but the thought of standing in that line again was unacceptable.

Great visit!

By Nikki J from Omaha, NE on May 12, 2011

We stayed in a deluxe room this past weekend, and it looked exactly like these pictures. It was clean and had a great view of the pool/gardens from the 20th floor! No complaints here and we would definitely go back!

Standard Rooms

By from Moose Jaw Canada on Dec 7, 2010

Some of the standard rooms are below standard. I stayed there in October and it was terrible - there were large stains on the carpets as well as being filthy. No table and only one chair - terrible room. Very slow check in, stearn check in clerk, but found the other service staff to be great. Car was broken into in the valet parking lot. They eventually took responsibility after we lost a day going to the police station, back to the car rental to get another car, a day wasted. My sister's room was the same so it wasn't just the one.

Room Renovations

By Jennifer on Dec 9, 2010

Hi Pat -- Thanks for writing to us, and sorry to hear about your negative experience. Right now, the Deluxe Rooms (which are the hotel's standard rooms) are undergoing renovations, so some may be better than others. The Deluxe Room we show is from before renovations began. Best, Jennifer
