Add CommentRecently celebrated my birthday & college graduation at the Venetian (Apr. 2011). My husband and I were pleasantly surprised by the beautiful accommodations.
CONS: The couch was a bit worn, missing a few decorative buttons & a bit scratchy from the worn material. The decorative light next to the couch was crooked/bent. One light was burn out over the vanity in the bathroom but I made due with the lighted make-up mirror instead. The overall lighting was a bit low but made for a romantic setting when needed.
PROS: The bedding was very comfortable & looked elegant upon our arrival. The chaise at the end of the bed was perfectly placed for optimum usage (changing shoes, setting down purse, relaxing for a quick minute, holding suitcase, etc.). The 3 TV's were very nice, especially the one in the bathroom that I watched while soaking in the large tub.
We will be returning in August to renew our wedding vows!
My wife and I stayed in a suite at the Venetian on Feb.4-9 2011. The room was very nice, with the exception of a worn out couch. Our biggest beef was with the bathroom, the bathroom is big with a tub and shower and double sink. The toilet is in a small closet by itself and that is where the problem was. The stench in the toilet room was unbearable, a smell I can only describe as the smell of rotting flesh, such as a dead rat or mouse, and it was coming from a small vent just below the ceiling. I phoned the front desk and complained about the smell and was told they would send someone up later to look at it. We left the room for the day and came back that night. I checked the toilet room, the door was left open and the smell was still present but not as bad, I suspect they just sprayed some air freshener and left the door open. I closed the toilet door before going to bed and when I had to use the toilet in the morning, I almost puked from the stink. It was even worse now. I took matters into my own hands and purchased duct tape and industrial air freshener from Walgreens. I sprayed down the vent and then taped it shut......no more stink! The last day in the room my wife took a bath and I turned on the shower which is in its own cubicle. My wife stepped out of the tub and pulled the drain open, while I was running the shower. At that moment waste water and black chunks came up through the shower drain, into the shower. We had to close the tub drain to get the water to drain out of the shower, disgusting! I complained to the lady at the desk upon checkout, she apologized but said all she could do was remove the resort fee from our bill. The problems with our bathroom coupled with hookers roaming the casino and rude casino and food court workers made for a ruined holiday!
Wonderful room. Good gambling and many food choices. Large resort that is not as difficult as some say to navigate. Really wonderful experience. Great check-in and very helpful staff. Would go back!
