F Sheckie

Wynn/Encore

By F Sheckie from Connecticut on Feb 27, 2011

In stays at both Wynn and Encore, I had noise issues. I could hear the people next door on both stays. Check in time at Wynn was excessive. Our best meal at Wynn was at Daniel's (now closed).

Beautiful hotel; bad service during busy times.

I stayed at this hotel in March of 2008 for a marketing conference and arrived at a particularly busy time. After waiting in line for over half an hour (even with a line assistant shuffling us into designated lines) I was told that there were no non-smoking rooms available and there wouldn't be for 3-4 hours. I had a networking function to get to and could not wait that long to shower and change, so I reluctantly took a smoking room.

Huge mistake.

The drapes and linens smelled of smoke and I had to call hospitality to bring me non-smoking pillows so I could sleep. They obliged, but it took over 45 minutes for the delivery. I was very disappointed in the response time, since I shouldn't have been forced into a smoking room in the first place.

My last evening in town, there was a loud party in the room next to mine and since I had an early flight, I called the front desk to complain. They were extremely courteous and apologized for the disruption...but did nothing about it. The noise continued well into the night.

When they asked upon checkout how my stay was and I responded "somewhat of a nightmare," the attendant put her head down and apologized, quickly giving me my receipt. There was no questioning of how they could improve my stay next time or what they could do to make it up to me.

For the price of the room, I expected more.

Service at Wynn Las Vegas

By Jennifer on Sep 10, 2009

Thanks for the comment, Tassoula. Everyone who stays in a hotel is bound to have a different experience, so we're happy to hear about your take on the hotel. We, too, experienced less-than-stellar service at the Wynn Las Vegas, which can often be the case at larger properties. We wrote that we found service to be a bit impersonal and not very attentive, but your comment certainly adds another perspective to what we included in our review. We're sorry to hear you had a such a negative hotel stay, but thanks for writing in!
