Bottom Line

Housed in a beautifully restored Spanish Colonial-style pink mansion in the heart of Miraflores, the Antigua Miraflores Hotel is a charming property, with tiled floors, wonderful woodwork, and lots of traditional Peruvian details throughout. The gorgeous common areas were renovated in the early 2000s but preserve the flavor of an elegant colonial residence, from the small but solid restaurant where the free breakfast is served every morning, to the tranquil courtyard. However, the rooms, though spacious and bright, are basic, with dated comforters, and can feel a bit musty. All in all, its location on a quiet street in hopping Miraflores is hard to beat, and the property's historic charm helps compensate for the average rooms.

Antigua Miraflores Hotel

Location

On a quiet street in bustling Miraflores, close to shopping, restaurants, and a few major attractions

The Antigua Miraflores Hotel is located in the heart of Milaflores, which is a safe and popular area with Peruvians and international tourists alike.

Most visitors to Lima flock straight to Miraflores, which is widely known for its shopping areas, gardens, well-maintained parks, and beaches. It's one of Lima's more upscale areas and is a cultural center with theaters, galleries, and cinemas. The area is home to many hotels, cafes, pubs, restaurants, and stores that are popular with both tourists and locals: Calle de Las Pizzas ("Pizza Street") is lined with pubs and bars that are filled with teenagers and young adults (especially on the weekends). The beaches here are popular with surfers and sunbathers alike (especially during the hot summer months) and are a great alternative to walking around in unbearably warm weather.

  • 35-minute drive to J Chavez International Airport
  • 10-minute walk to Miraflores Central Park and John F. Kennedy Park
  • 10-minute walk to the Parque del Amor, a romantic park overlooking the Pacific Ocean
  • 5-minute drive to Huaca Pucllana, the only remaining pre-Incan ruin in the area
  • 5-minute drive to Museo Amano, a museum of pre-Columbian artifacts
  • 9-minute drive to the Larcomar shopping mall
  • 10-minute drive to the beach
  • 20-minute drive to Lima’s Historic District
  • 20-minute drive to the Cathedral of Lima
