The Basadre Suites is located close to the upscale Embassy District and a couple of blocks from the business area in the neighborhood. Restaurants are about the only thing within walking distance, but most are on the expensive side and tend to fill up quickly during peak hours.
Miraflores, a bustling district widely known for its shopping areas, gardens, well-maintained parks, and beaches, is just south of San Isidro. It is a quick cab ride away from the hotel, as are the area's only remaining pre-Incan ruins.
San Isidro is home to many upscale hotels, and is popular for its shopping malls and the quality golf club with views of the Lima skyline. It is mainly residential (especially the area around the Embassy District), and generally safe, but visitors don’t usually spend too much time here -- they mostly stop (or drive) by on their way to Lima’s Historic District from Miraflores, which is the real draw in the capital city.
