Photos and Review by Oyster.com Investigators

Pros

  • Near 2 metro lines and the airport bus stop
  • Decent-sized rooms with signature mattresses and flat-screen TVs
  • Panorama Restaurant boasts impressive city views
  • Fine and casual dining options available
  • Upscale Spirito Spa, complete with saunas, hammams, and a juice bar
  • Pleasant outdoor pool (for a fee!)
  • Well-equipped fitness center with modern machines
  • Full-service business center and 5,400 square feet of meeting space
  • Friendly, helpful staff

Cons

  • Pesky fees for spa, pool and Wi-Fi
  • No major attractions within walking distance
  • Glass-enclosed bathrooms lack privacy

Bottom Line

The 369-room Sheraton Lisboa is an upscale chain hotel just outside the city center, near two metro lines and the airport bus stop. Elegant rooms are fairly spacious and modern, with stylish furnishings, Bang & Olufsen flat-screen TVs, and signature mattresses. Sleek bathrooms have glass walls, and while they do have blinds, guests complain about lack of privacy. The property boasts wonderful dining options (both casual and formal), stunning city views, a full-service business center, and an upscale spa. But guests may feel nickel-and-dimed due to pesky fees for everything from Wi-Fi to pool access.

Oyster Hotel Review

 Location

A little removed from the main tourist attractions -- but getting to the city center is easy and fast via the two metro lines located a few blocks from the hotel

The Sheraton Lisboa is located on a quiet residential area east of Eduardo VII Park, a few minutes outside the heart of the city. Even though the Picoas neighborhood is pretty quiet and a little far from the main sights, the hotel is located a short walk from two metro lines, which offer easy access to tourist attractions, restaurants, nightlife and shopping. Rossio Square, considered the heart of the historic center, is just three metro stops away, and the Marques de Pombal area, home to luxurious hotels and boutiques, is within a short walk.

  • 14-minute drive to Lisbon Portela Airport, or 22 minutes via public transportation
  • 2-minute walk to Picoas metro stop, served by the Yellow Line
  • 8-minute walk to Parque metro stop, served by the Blue Line
  • 9-minute walk to El Corte Ingles, one of the most popular shopping malls in Lisbon
  • 10-minute walk to Eduardo VII Park
  • 9-minute metro ride to Chiado
  • 12-minute metro ride to the Santa Justa historic elevator, with great views
  • 12-minute metro ride to the heart of Baixa
  • 15-minute metro ride to Rossio, a main square
  • 17-minute metro ride to Bairro Alto
  • 19-minute metro ride to Praca do Comercio, a beautiful plaza facing the river
  • 19-minute metro ride to Casa dos Bicos
  • 25-minute bus ride to St. George's Castle
  • 12-minute drive to the National Museum of Ancient Art
  • 12-minute drive to Alfama
  • 14-minute drive to the Belem Tower
  • 15-minute drive to the Jeronimos Monastery
  • 17-minute drive to the National Coach Museum, the largest museum of royal coaches in the world
