Lovely Property, Fabulous Staff; Aqua Star Spa very disappointing

By Debbie McAfee from Seattle on Mar 20, 2011

Returned a week ago from a 3 day girlfriend getaway. The staff at the Beverly Hilton are marvelous ~ Front Desk, Congierge, Lobby Bar, Circa 55 Restaurant. They all treated us very well!! Room was spacious, beds were very comfortable, superb pillows. The only disappointment was the experience on our last day there, at Aqua Star Spa. I had called several days before we left for our trip to book 3 spa appointments and was told they could definitely get the 3 of us in at the same time. Two for massages (1 female, 1 male masseuse) and one for a facial. My facial was nice. However, turns out both masseuses were male (contrary to what I was initially told), but worse yet, one of them overslept and did not show!! My girlfriend was left waiting in the spa lounge for well over 35 minutes (yes, albeit enjoying peace & quiet, tea, & cookies) before the front desk went to check on her for a 2nd time & realized their sleepy-headed masseuse never made it in, even after they initially told her "oops, he overslept, he'll be here shortly." They tried to make things right in their way: the other masseuse when finished with my other girlfriend gave a 10 min. comp. massage to her; offered two free products (which she couldn't take since they were over the 3 oz. carry-on limit for airlines, and no, they weren't willing to ship them); come back later (we were flying out that day); 20% discount for future service (not very appealing). After two calls to the Spa Manager at home by the Spa Receptionist (who kept saying she was new) they gave her a soy candle $25.00 value. The over-sleeping massuse should be excused from his job! Even if it was day-light savings time change that day, we had 1 pm appointments for goodness sake! Not the best spa experience by any means!!! Again, the actual Beverly Hilton Hotel staff and other services were absolutely wonderful, but if you want a nice spa experience I would definitely advise going elsewhere. Even discounting the fiasco that happened the Spa facilities are not worth it in the long run.
