In Los Angeles' Miracle Mile District, not far from Beverly Hills
The Hotel Wilshire is in the densely populated, affluent Miracle Mile District. This area has a number of impressive museums, as well as plenty of shops and restaurants, but it's not a main destination for tourists. Beverly Hills, however, is just a short drive away.
Modern rooms and luxurious spa-style bathrooms
The hotel's 74 rooms start at 280 square feet and are decorated in a subdued color palette of beiges, browns, and light blues (only the bright yellow accent pillows stand out). They have light wood furniture and up-to-date technology, including flat-screen TVs and iPod docks. Bathrooms are luxurious with deep soaking tubs and spa products.
Rooftop dining from a celebrated chef
The Rooftop on Wilshire is the hotel's main hangout space, and includes a pool lounge, bar area, and fire pit. The rooftop restaurant is helmed by former Iron Chef contestant Eric Greenspan and has excellent city views.
Breakfast is served on the mezzanine floor every morning with food from the Rooftop kitchen. Room service is also available.
The hotel hosts a free nightly wine reception in the lobby.
The Hotel Wilshire, a Kimpton Boutique, is a chic, 74-room business-oriented hotel located near (but not in) Beverly Hills. Rooms have a modern design and up-to-date technology, and bathrooms shine with contemporary fixtures and Lather bath products. The hotel may not have much as far features -- there's no fitness center or spa -- there is a rooftop pool area with restaurant and bar, ample lounge space, and panoramic views of downtown and the Hollywood Hills. Since its transition to a Kimpton property in 2012, the hotel has added a bevy of new extras, including a nightly wine reception, animal print robes, in-room wellness services, free Wi-Fi for Kimpton InTouch members (a program which is free to join), pet-friendly practices, and the Kimpton EarthCare program, which garnered the hotel a Silver LEED certification.
