Located on Medona Beach near central Cabo San Lucas
Cabo Villas is located on the crowded shores of Playa Medano, or Medano Beach. Popular for its relatively calm surf, Playa Medano is lined by numerous hotels. The waters are a beautiful turquoise, but the beach is almost always packed -- with hotel guests, cruise ship revelers, and pushy vendors. Baja Cantina Beachside, a line of bars and restaurants, sits directly on the beach for those looking to embrace the "party-hearty" spirit of Cabo San Lucas.
At the southern tip of Mexico's Baja Peninsula, Cabo San Lucas -- a beach town on the stretch of coastline collectively known as Los Cabos (The Capes) -- has long been a popular vacation spot for sun-worshipping party seekers. Hence, the nickname Cabo San Loco.
Almost all 142 units of the Cabo Villas are romantic, airy and bright – with modern décor, stylish fixtures, and spacious balconies with stunning views (some even feature private Jacuzzis). Lower-level rooms, however, tend to be dark and have limited views. The ocean-side location is beautiful, but Medano Beach's shores are teeming with vendors and growing waves of tourists. And the property's timeshare sales pitches are a nuisance for some.
