The 66 rooms at the super luxurious Capella Pedregal all come with fireplaces, private terraces, and plunge pools, along with beautiful views of the Pacific Ocean and rocky cliffs. Interior design is nearly flawless, with Spanish-Colonial-inspired touches such as beautiful dark wood French doors and beamed ceilings; and the service is impeccable -- expect thoughtful extras such as afternoon deliveries of beer, chips, and guacamole to the rooms. And as far as on-site amenities go, it's tough to top the Capella Pedregal's impressive list: an infinity pool overlooking the coast, the organic Auriga Spa, and a restaurant situated on a cliff with killer views. Although the waves at the hotel's beach area are too large to allow for swimming, safe beaches can be found within five miles. All in all, it's one of the best hotels in Cabo San Lucas.
Separated from downtown Cabo San Lucas and Pedregal by a tunnel, the hotels' surrounding area seems pretty secluded
Although the hotel is located near the bustling Pedregal area and downtown Cabo San Lucas, you have to drive or walk through a tunnel, which seems to lead you to another world on the other side -- one devoid of much development and crowds. The tunnel does a nice job of separating the two areas, but all the excitement is still just a short drive away.
Located on the very southern tip of the California Baja Peninsula, Pedregal was designed to be a luxurious residential area of Mexico. With its stunning scenery -- rocky cliffs, dramatic coastlines, and desert landscape -- it has enticed many tourists from all over the world to explore the area.
Although the beaches are spectacular, and tourists tend to spend most time either there or at hotel pools, downtown Pedregal is pretty charming as well. With a marketplace and colorful buildings, it offers a taste of Mexican culture and heritage not necessarily found in other parts of Cabo.
