The NH Paseo Del Prado is a typical mid-range hotel. It includes some nice features -- such as a bright, spacious fitness center and two restaurants, including a hip tapas bar with a Michelin-starred chef -- but its rooms are nothing special, with a mismatched decor of tired, floral bedspreads, striped walls, and an overall faded look. Nonetheless, this hotel can offer a solid value (prices can fluctuate significantly depending on the season) with perks such as free Wi-Fi in common areas and a convenient location in the Huertas neighborhood.

The NH Paseo del Prado is located in Huertas, within walking distance of Puerta del Sol and Plaza Mayor. There are plenty of cafes, restaurants, and shops in Huertas -- the area is considered by many to have the best nightlife and culinary scene in the city. It's also close to Puerta de Atocha train station, which serves the high speed trains.
The capital of Spain is a vibrant, multicultural city located right in the center of the country. The Cuatro Torres business area's additions to the city skyline (four sleek towers, including a hotel and corporate offices) give an idea of what Madrid is rapidly becoming: a sophisticated, cosmopolitan city -- albeit one that preserves its century-old traditions.
