AVOID AT ALL COSTS

By from Atlanta, GA on May 14, 2010

My partner and I booked a night at this hotel and were greeted by a rude staff and a urine puddle on the floor in our room. When we approached the staff about it we were not offered a resolution and left the hotel. We have contacted the corporate office several times about this issue and the puddle has now been blamed on us. We were in the hotel for less than an hour and charged for a full stay.

This is a horrible hotel. AVOID IT AT ALL COSTS! There are much nicer, cleaner, and friendlier hotels in the SOBE area for the same price if not less.

Not worth full-price

Agree that this hotel seems to attract a young, party-ready crowd. It was hard to tell whether the crowd hanging at the on-site bars/lounge were actually hotel guests or scene-seeking out-of-towners though. The daytime pool scene was definitely pretty lively, compelte with a DJ and dancing, drunken guests. The private beach area was much more mellow though.

We fortunately got a good last-minute deal from Hotels.com for a room here. I definitely don't think it would be worth full-price. From the moment we walked into the lobby I was underwhelmed. The room was also tiny and didn't really have a four-star/luxury feel to it. I assume they're going for a chic, minimalist look, but it left much to be desired. The only thing that would've clued me in on the fact that this is considered a high-end hotel, was that a glass of red wine cost $16 and ordering a bottle of Fiji water while laying out in the beach area set me back $15.

The last time I was in Miami we stayed at the nearby Loews. It wasn't a wild party scene or anything like that, but definitely felt like it was worth the money we spent on the rooms.
