The Lodge re-opened in 2013 after a four-year renovation, and looks fresh and modern as a result. The airy lobby exudes a casual and somewhat rustic vibe that’s still classy, with natural stone columns reaching the second floor, a large gas fireplace, and lots of oversize leather furniture. The great outdoors beckon here, with a spacious patio overlooking a lake and the golf course. Expansive grounds make for a relaxing stroll, and you’ll often see guests sitting outside their rooms enjoying the views. The property mostly attracts a mature clientele that enjoys golf in a peaceful getaway setting. But it isn't unusual to see families, as well as international guests and corporate groups. Weddings are popular on summer weekends. 

The Lodge is located in a peaceful setting, surrounded by a golf course with 10 lakes. It’s a short drive west to Carmel and to the beaches. A coffee shop and Mexican restaurant are a short walk away. Otherwise, you’ll need a car to visit area restaurants and attractions.

The contemporary guest rooms are bright and spacious, with handsome, high-quality Mission-style furniture that enhances the West Coast, rustic ranch ambiance. It nicely plays off white walls, Native American-pattern rugs, and decorative pillows in bright colors for a look that feels pulled together. There's plenty of room for large desks and oversize armchairs with matching ottomans, plus patios or balconies are standard, with Adirondack-style furniture and nice views of the golf course or other parts of the grounds. Many units come with gas fireplaces, and all are equipped with large flat-screen TVs, mini-fridges, Keurig coffeemakers, and free Wi-Fi. While the bedrooms have a casual vibe, the spacious bathrooms are more upscale. They feature separate tubs and walk-in showers, exceptionally large vanities, and magnifying mirrors. Rooms start at a generous 396 square feet, and the Two Bedroom Fairway Villas encompass more than 2,000 square feet. 

Recreation is a big focus here, with an 18-hole golf course, driving range, and specialized golf schools. Tennis lessons also are available for a fee at the property’s tennis courts, and off-road driving lessons are part of the Land Rover Driving Experience that takes participants on a dedicated obstacle course. The heated oval pool complex includes three poolside cabanas and houses the fitness center, with dedicated rooms for cardio, weight training, and floor exercises such as yoga. 

For dining, the hotel offers a free continental breakfast daily, but the variety is rather limited. Edgar’s restaurant serves locally-sourced American fare for lunch and dinner, and Covey’s Bar features appetizers. Both have outdoor seating with lovely views.

Corporate meetings and weddings are popular at the Lodge’s 8,500 square feet of event space that includes a ballroom which can accommodate up to 300 people. There's also a business center with a computer and other office equipment. The hotel has a small convenience shop, golf shop with clothing and equipment, and valet dry cleaning and laundry services are available.Wi-Fi and on-site parking are free, and pets are welcome with a surcharge.
