This 300-room, mid-range property has a convenient location on a great beach, near shopping, several golf courses, and Downtown Myrtle Beach. Clean rooms come with flat-screen TVs with premium cable access, microwaves, and mini-fridges, but the decor -- though nicer than at some competing properties -- is still a bit dated, with low-quality bedspreads. The hotel features three pools (one indoor, one outdoor with beach views, and a lazy river, but no fun extras, like slides); a decent fitness center; and an adequate American restaurant. It's a fine choice for families, but there’s little that stands out.

On a sandy beach in the heart of Myrtle Beach
The Patricia Grand is located directly on a sandy beach, along with dozens of other resorts, very close to the city center, and to chain restaurants. There are very few local stores in the area, but the huge Broadway At The Beach mega-mall and entertainment center is only a few minutes’ drive from the hotel.
Myrtle Beach's Downtown is the place to be in this seaside resort city, home to a bustling boardwalk, numerous all-American and international eateries, shops, and huge resorts. It also offers a number of water activities -- deep sea fishing, jet skiing, sunbathing, and those banana boat rides that will keep you from taking yourself too seriously. If you're hoping for a busy, entertaining vacation for the family, Downtown is your spot.
