Located a short walk away from Calistoga's main drag, in the heart of California wine country
One of the main draws of the Stevenson Manor Inn is its location. Nearby golfing, shopping and spa attractions are only a short walk away, and scores of wineries, parks and natural beauty only require a short drive. It is on a main street, so if you need complete quiet to sleep, ask for a room off the street.
Calistoga's name is said to come from a Freudian slip made by the town's founder while trying to describe it as the Saratoga of California: in many ways, they've succeeded in recreating the same vibe. The area is well known for its many natural hot springs and has been a wellness destination for visitors for over a century. Of course, the town has also had the fortune of California's booming wine industry growing up around it.
While the Best Western Plus Stevenson Manor Inn is more about value than luxury, the 34 rooms are clean and spacious, with modern amenities such as iPod docks and flat-screen TVs, as well as contemporary decor -- mostly in tan, chocolate, gray, and cream hues. The main areas of the hotel, including the simple pool and tiny breakfast area are nothing to write home about. It's the convenient location of this hotel that's the real draw here -- walking to downtown Calistoga or driving to wineries in St. Helena and along the Silverado Trail is a breeze.
