Review Summary

Photos and Review by

  • Convenient location close to some great vineyards
  • Can access some local shops and eateries (including Starbucks, Whole Foods, and a pizza joint) by foot
  • Spacious, clean rooms (though nothing fancy)
  • Clean bathrooms with thick towels
  • Free coffee, coffeemakers, and mini-fridges
  • Pet-friendly (for a fee)
  • Free Wi-Fi (though some complain service is sporadic)
  • Free self-parking

  • In a busier location than most local competitors, right off a main route
  • No fitness center or restaurant
  • Shoddy Wi-Fi
  • Tiny pool with few chairs

Bottom Line

The Chablis Inn is basically a simple two-level mid-range motor lodge with no frills. The rooms are big and comfortable enough, but you have to put up with old fixings like tube TVs and old-school alarm clocks. While it does have a (tiny) pool, perks such as free Wi-Fi, and a pet-friendly policy, this place is probably better suited as a one-night stopover for wine country visitors than a long-term stay. It's close by to some great wineries, but the hotel itself isn't the type of environment where you'd sit outside with a couple of glasses of wine and relax.

It's just a few minutes' drive to some of the best wineries in town.

The city of Napa is the largest in Napa County. The area is known mainly and the birthplace of the American wine industry, and maintains a very rural agricultural environment in comparison to surrounding areas.
