Inn of Naples

The Inn of Naples is a small, privately-operated hotel with manicured grounds and warmly-lit interior spaces. On entrance, neat lawns, trimmed shrubbery, palm trees, and colorful flowers nicely set off the peach building with white trim. The lobby feels cozy and distinctly Floridian, with clay-colored floor tiles, floral-print cushions, wicker furniture, fake tropical flowers, and a wooden palm frond fan overhead. Hallways are clean and simple, with cream-colored walls and brown carpeting. Outside, the swimming pool is clean and surrounded by a brick patio with tan lounge chairs and umbrellas.

Located just west of the Gulf of Mexico, the hotel is near the beach -- Lowdermilk Park Beach is about a 10-minute drive away. Nearby dining options abound: the Spanish restaurant, Lamoraga, is directly across the street; a couple of restaurants are a five-minute walk south on Tamiami Trail; and heading toward the beach on Park Shore Drive, other restaurants are located on the water. Fifth Avenue South -- a popular shopping, dining, and art destination -- is about a 10-minute drive south. Other points of interest include the boutiques and cafes in downtown Naples (about 10 minutes away), and Naples Pier (a 12 minutes' drive).

Guest rooms come with either a single king or two double beds. A two-bedroom suite is also available for larger parties; it can be converted into a boardroom or breakout room for business use. Furniture and decor is modern with touches of Old Florida style: wicker and rattan, curtains with a subtle tropical print, pineapple base lamps, and orange accents against white bedding. All rooms have flat-screen TVs, mini-fridges, coffeemakers, and balconies. Bathrooms have shower/tub combos with shampoo and conditioner dispensers, and colorful touches like striped shower curtains and fake potted flowers.

An older hotel, the Inn of Naples provides basic amenities, including a small gym with three workout machines and a coin-operated laundry room. The outdoor swimming pool is clean and has an ADA-compliant lift. The business center has two computers, as well as a fax machine and copier. A spacious room with gold tropical-print carpeting and cream-colored walls can be used for events and meetings. A continental breakfast is served daily in a room with wicker chairs and wood cabinetry, or on an outdoor brick patio with beige chairs and umbrellas near the pool. There are no on-site dining options other than the breakfast every morning.
