Add CommentI just stayed at the Milford this past Monday 11/28/11. It was my first time since 1989. They have renovated nearly all the rooms and they are really nice. I booked a renovated one. The bathrooms were small but with modern fixtures and a nice shower head. The total cost for room tax and all wa $112. It was a block away from Times Square. THe staff were very helpful and accomodating, the doormen were very approachable and downright nice! My only complaint was the air conditioner (although new) did not work so well, but the weather was so nice that we had the windows open and the ice machines did not work on our floor... I am sure the reason is the ongoing construction. I would definitely recommend this hotel especially if you want to stay in that area of the city! Not as fancy as the Kimpton chain which is my favorite but for 1/5 of the price it is a definite option!
This hotel is one of the worst I have ever seen in my life. And I've travel for 30 years in a variety of countries. The bathroom is covered with mold, the smell is spreading everywhere, the sheets are torn, the carpet was really dirty, it was cold and no additional blankets. I tried ironing pants, but when I grabbed the ironing board, a kind of liquid brown gum got on my hand. The worst part was the night; someone tried to enter my room (1439). Luckily I had put the security chain on. The staff is so absurd that it is repugnant ... The hotel is a disgrace to New York and does not deserve to wear that name ... It's a hole.
The standard room was a bit small, but expected in New York. The room was nicely decorated, clean and comfortable. The staff was excellent, very friendly and helpful. The breakfast buffet and cheese and wine in the evening was excellent and very welcome.
Well Worth the Money!
