Bottom Line

This sprawling 212-room all-inclusive resort, spread out over 30 acres, has been a landmark on Grenada for about two decades, and has even hosted special guests such as heads of state. With two beaches, three restaurants, games and activities, and an attractive pool complex, there’s plenty to do for families and couples alike.

Royalton Grenada Resort & Spa

Location

In Tamarind Bay on the island's Southwest corner, a short hop from the airport

Located on a rambling 30-acre property on the popular Southwest corner of the island, the Royalton Grenada Resort & Spa is probably the largest resort on the island. There is a lot of ground to cover, and many vertical steps, so guests should be ready to walk to reach the pool or lobby. It’s set on Tamarind Bay, which provides two nice beaches, located on either side of the pool complex. It’s not bordered by any other resorts or restaurants, so it’s quiet -- though like all beaches on the island, the beaches are open to the public (meaning that vendors will find their way over.) It’s very close to the airport, only about a five-minute drive away, and the capital of St. George’s is about a 20-minute ride.

Beach

Two white-sand beaches: one calm and tranquil, the other lively and full of activites

Flanking each side of the large pool area, there are two separate picturesque white-sand beaches, each with a different atmosphere. To the left is Magazine beach, a long stretch of beach that is quieter and more tranquil.  On the right side is where the dive shop and water sports are located, which is more lively, with lots of kids playing games. The resort is not bordered by any other hotels, so the beaches are largely peaceful, though some vendors will make their way around. An eight-minute walk down Magazine beach will bring you to the Aquarium Restaurant, the only other building in the area.
